Being taught to work hard, at the age of 11, I began teaching tennis. When I left school I had four jobs believing this was the only way anyone made money. I was working in professions that always made lots of money for other people.

I worked four jobs to pay my way through University determined always to learn more about us as people. I was fascinated by us, and how we tick.

I personally set up Million Dollar Departments in Recreation, Health and Fitness in both a University and a Teaching Hospital in Sydney winning an Outstanding Young Australian Award for my efforts. Always offering people opportunities to be, do and have more and changing the face of institutions with my “NOT ONLY BUT ALSO” slogan.

I was told to go out and start my own business but I didn’t know anything about running a business as I had no-one to model. Quite frankly I was fearful of even contemplating running my own business.

I was so good at working around the clock to run a million dollar  business for someone else that I never related that I could put those skills into running my own business. Then one day I realised that the passion for working for someone else was gone, and it was time to take the big step and begin my own Business and Consultancy Service.

The farewell speech rang in my ears as the Governor for Area Health said “Ladies and gentlemen, as we go through our lives we learn from people every single day. I have leant more from this woman than anyone else in my entire lifetime. The problem is she is ten years ahead of her time”. Wow!!! And I was leaving because I thought they were ten years behind the times. My vision was well into the future.


I remember my husband driving past me one day and we stopped and wound down the windows and he said “Gosh, I have a picture of someone that looks just like you in my wallet”. While it was funny at the time it brought home how little time I was spending with my family so I could be this amazing new and exciting Business Woman.

You see, moving my business from one employment place to home was just geography. Changing the way I do business to achieve work/life balance had not really sunk in.


Just like my old patterns of behaviour I quickly developed four businesses. Not only did I teach up to 20 fitness classes per week, I ran the first International Convention for Fitness Leaders. I lectured in 16 subjects at TAFE and Universities, writing curriculum for both at night. And I ran a children’s Sports and Games Camp in the School Holidays. Did I mention the volunteering I did for the local school and soccer club?

I quickly learnt that if you don’t make time for your own health you will have to make time for illness because I was burning out and in fact I was diagnosed with a debilitating disease of the immune system called LUPUS. My body was eating itself and I did not feel so good. I had ignored all the warning signs because I was “fit and healthy”. I soon found out I was running on adrenaline and when that ran out so did I.

I soon learnt that changing the business location is geography while changing the way you do business is a whole new skill and I was open to learn how others did this. I decided to learn more about myself. I wanted to know how I got sick and how I could become well again. I also wanted to know how some people can run a very successful business where you leave a legacy to the world while you have quality time for yourself and your family and friends.

In 1998 I started a journey of personal growth and development, the power of the mind and re-discovering me.

I not only learnt an amazing amount, I practiced my learnings on me and I cured myself of the debilitating disease of Lupus, then I teamed up with doctors to teach others how they could do the same. I decided that I could not teach something that I did not personally believe in myself. Teachers loved me in their classes because I would go home and practice what they taught me that day. I continue to do that.

The holistic self discovery, experiences, wisdom and transformation in me is like a miracle continually unfolding.


John Kanary (Bob Proctor’s Partner) once said “I sometimes regret the sleep that takes me away from my business” and that is how I feel.  I am absolutely living my purpose. My dream of developing a Wellness Centre of Body and Mind is absolutely a reality. I now realise that the Centre I operate from is the world. How blessed am I to travel the world assisting people to raise their potential, transforming their brilliance to a whole new level, enabling people in all countries, and at all ages, to realise and live their dream, stimulating self expression and creativity and fostering innovation and transformation.

I have this profound belief in people and I am passionate about assisting them to experience this belief for themselves so they can live abundantly, while being there for their family and for themselves. Over the many years of my journey I have run some award winning “Million Dollar” businesses for other people where I actually received a “Young Outstanding Australian Award”. When I left I said to myself “the next million dollars I make will be myne”. So from my home I have also run some excitingly successful businesses including an Internationally recognised Health and Fitness Business, A Children’s Sports and Games Program that ran for 14 years, an internet marketing joint venture with a top motivational coach, an online Health and Fitness Club, a Social Enterprise for people with grief, an International Personal Development Training Program and an NLP Training and Coaching Business that has become Internationally recognised as one of the top services in the industry throughout the world. I have also written books, become a consistently popular speaker both on radio and with other platinum coaches, developed product for both hard copy and online selling, produced DVD’s and CD’s and overall experienced every facet of a successful business operation.

I recently took 5,000 copies of my book into the earthquake zone in China, 1, 200 books went to the bushfire victims of Victoria in Australia and 2 boxes were sent to Africa and Mississippi after devastating traumas. I could not do that without earning money. Earning money in business is imperative because I can only continue to travel the world and do what I do best living my purpose with money coming to me.

While my working life paid me very well, my small business working life has allowed me to have the FREEDOM and creativity while consistently offering me and my family the benefits a small business from home can offer. My son has travelled the world with me. My husband got his boat. The house was renovated to become the house of our dreams and not the house we could afford. I am in property development with other family members and my new home welcomes anyone who wants to share with me because they can. Everything is Possible. I learnt that from all the hard yards that I put it and the learnings I gained along the way about working smart to get a greater result.

I no longer work hard, or ever intend to again. I LOVE what I do so there is no struggle of working out where the money will come from or how the business will look in 3 months from now. I was co- coaching a group of people yesterday from all around the world by phone and I realise how much my energy changes when I coach people. While imparting profound insights, we were all laughing at ourselves at what we choose to use to block our pathway to success and then we got honest about what we gain from doing that. There were lots of ahah! moments and the realisation that we just need to get out of our own way. When I explained how easy anxiety was to overcome, and physically got the team to stand up and follow my steps in their homes, there were so many sighs of relief that you could hear the boulders falling from the backpacks. As I travel and teach and coach people around the world it’s common for me to have people come up and say that they would love to be like me or to do what I do. The want the same level of success and freedom that they perceive is in my business and life. They see my life as a distant dream for them one day where you have the best of both world of working and travelling and time with family and friends.

When I am on the stage and I tell them how I dressed up as a man to get to England the first time I went because I was given a return ticket from a male student at the university I was attending in the USA; or when I worked four jobs to put myself through University; or when I hitchhiked across the Canadian Rockies in minus 35 degrees to do required “Work Experience” to complete my Masters Degree; or when I took 5,000 copies of my “Good Grief” book to the distraught families of the earthquake area in China and I do not speak Chinese.

So often the same people that want to be like me, or travel like I do, or have the success and freedom that I may experience, are not willing to do the work, or do what it takes to create it. How many people create the circumstances that STOP them from having any success? OR they think if they read a book, listen to a free teleseminar or webinar, read an ebook etc. that they can create something from nothing and it will all happen in a month.

I know that happens because I use to do that.

I am really not that much different than you. Remember, I was told to go out years ago and create my own business and I was too fearful of doing that. Instead I created million dollar departments for a University then a Hospital. I always knew how to earn money for someone else, BUT not for me. I had no family members show me how to run a business and I had no inheritance. Luck had nothing to do with it.  In fact when I began my home-based Health and Fitness Business I felt like I was always behind the other business people. I worked day and night until my body said STOP.

So, why did things change for me, what actually happened and how have I been able to create the global business I have today as quickly as I have?

Let me share with you the key to my success.

For the first 7 years of my business, I did it all myself. I thought I knew enough so I did not go out and gather any more information. I purely ran on present knowledge and EGO. That is being as honest as I can be and it’s all I knew. I had little knowledge of a computer because I had paid for my secretary to do all the courses to improve her computer skills and I wished I had done the same for me. I worked hard day and night with the knowledge I had.

The business was definitely successful because I had the understanding of running a Health and Fitness business from the University and Hospital that were both very successful. In fact I spent 14 years in the Hospital setting up a million dollar business for them. And I had a Masters Degree in Health, Fitness and Recreation Education so of course I knew everything!!!!!

Then, after those first 7 years when I decided to grow my business, I was invited to a personal development weekend that I did not want to attend. I should say I was dragged along by a guy who didn’t want to go by himself. I will always be grateful for him dragging me along as that weekend changed my life.

I did not want to go because I did not think I could afford it and I thought I knew enough. It was actually the best investment of my life. I learnt about me and how I think and how I can change the way I think to be, do and have anything I want. I told the facilitator I would be teaching this material one day, I was so impressed.

Whenever that teacher was in town, I went to all of the seminars and I had to borrow the money to attend. I then bought a ticket for my son’s 21st birthday present so he could hear this great information as well. I began teaching some of the concepts in this material in the TAFE Colleges. I changed the curriculum when I taught in health seminars and at Universities and Colleges. I took this material to the prisons. I wanted to make sure everyone got to experience it like I did and I saw the changes in front of my eyes every single day. I lived the material.

Bob Proctor was this man, and I found out he was in South Australia at a Convention and I decided I was going to meet him in person and thank him. Ten minutes before morning tea time in front of 2500 people, I stood up and walked outside the convention room to meet him before the others came out. I told him how I used his material in Colleges, Prisons, my own life and my son’s life and I thanked him for his ideas and concepts as they were changing so many lives including myne. He asked me for my business card. I will never forget that day.

In the following July I was phoned by Bob Proctor’s office to ask me to become a facilitator of his material. I was over the moon with excitement. The cost, however was around $20,000. I had never spent money like this on me,  my business or my  personal development. OUCH!!!!

I advanced my credit cards to make it happen, because like many people I did not have a spare $20,000 lying around. The training was to be in November and I decided I was going to teach this material the minute I finished the training. I had 22 people book into my first course one week later that I held in my garage in my new house….just so I could practice the teaching of his material. In fact, in a very short time I was making $40,000 in one weekend which was half my annual salary previously.

Is that LUCK, or is that a brilliant return on investment? I knew that investing in me was the best way to create the life and business I was seeking. Investing in me then became my new habit.

After investing in myself with the Bob Proctor Training and Mastermind opportunity I then invested in further Coaching and Training in what I think is a powerful next step, that being in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) because it is the study of excellence. The Coaching was around $3,000 while the extensive Training was well over $20,000 and spread over a full year. My combined learnings from the Bob Proctor Material, Health and Fitness and the new NLP Training gave me the confidence to promote myself out as a Coach and a trainer.

With coaching clients lining up at the door, and numbers in my trainings doubling I had generated three times my investment from an idea that came from one of my mastermind team members. I was playing around with an idea to put on an “UP Close and Personal” night with me so I could see how people were going from my teachings. We just wanted to charge a small fee to cover the cost of the venue. To our surprise the numbers exceeded the size of the room with over 250 people showing, all the product sold out and future courses were booked into at the rate of 80 people at a time.  From one idea and one event I tripled my investment.

So again, the return on my investment was tripled, quick to happen, and each event grew my business exponentially.

I then made the decision to invest in Professional advice, Mentors and in Specialist people working with me to achieve my dreams. I did this to revamp my whole business and look at my personal branding to make sure I was congruent and working in my business was the continual joy that it is today. Once again, this has proven to be an amazing investment providing me with the courage to change, the plan and the steps and support to move forward and the mentorship I require to very quickly revamp the way the business was happening to a more exciting, authentic replication of my true self….and I couldn’t be happier.

Have I yet seen the returns on that recent investment? NOT YET. So WHY? Because I know how this process works now and I will continue to invest in these people while we create the new formulas and “tweak” the new business plans until they are perfect. Changing the business and investing in people that specialise in doing what I do not do is both scary and exciting at the same time. I knew I had to fully embrace this move knowing the rewards would not be immediate and being fully aware that I could not make this necessary change on my own in the 90 days only that it has taken so far.

While all this cost and change is happening I was called to London to speak in front of up to 3,000 people. I was asked to coach in Spain and train in Brussels. I was then asked to do a joint venture with a top Motivational Coach and run my own radio show in the USA in 2010.  The more effort I put into me and revamping the business the more rewards come back…its one of the Universal Laws and absolutely believe it all and live my life knowing this.  I can’t wait to share this with you.

Just to go to London, I had to increase my credit card limit because other property developments and my new business and new house and car very quickly took care of the cash coming through the door.
